Paediatric Dental General Practice Residency

The IWK Health Centre Dental Department (IWK) in conjunction with the Division of Paediatric Dentistry, Department of Dental Clinical Sciences (DCS) offers a one-year Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (DDAC) accredited Dental Residency Program focusing on Paediatric Dentistry. This new one-year post graduate program will offer an enhancement of clinical skills for graduated dentists who have an interest in Pediatrics and Hospital based dental care. The total number of students in the offerings of the program will not exceed two students for the year.

Students will require a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or equivalent from a CDAC accredited or reciprocal accredited institution. A minimum ‘B’ average in undergraduate and professional classwork will be required. Students will have displayed an interest and aptitude in Paediatric Dentistry in their undergraduate curriculum as displayed by their marks in third and fourth year Paediatric Dentistry and reference letters.
