A survey of contemporary European history that employs representative works of literature, arts, architecture and film as well as traditional published records and monographic accounts to introduce students to major events of the twentieth century: the two world wars, the Russian Revolution, the political systems of Italian Fascism, German Nazism and Soviet Communism, the Holocaust and others. RECOMMENDED: HIST 1021.03 or 1023.03.
