This course explores the connections between contemporary global issues and daily life in Halifax. It is organized into four modules that examine the social and environmental impacts of our daily consumption patterns and how these decisions connect us to the lives of people around the world. We will expose these links through an examination of our usage with commodities and the processes that connect their production, consumption and disposal. Students will be prompted to engage with ethical questions that emerge from these global connections and addresses the practical ways in which we can respond to their associated urgent global challenges.
