Program Requirements - Optimization Modelling BUSI 6509   Optimization Modelling
CREDIT HOURS: 1.5
Managers and business leaders are constantly seeking ways to optimize resources or efficiency; minimize risks, costs, or wastes; and thereby maximize both their organization’s as well as their own professional and personal success. With these same goals in mind, this course will show how optimization can be used to guide managerial decisions and inform policies in many different situations and business analytics applications. Several examples or case studies from finance, management, marketing, operations and production, supply chain sustainability as well as equity, diversity and inclusiveness will be chosen to cover a wide spectrum of the different modelling dichotomies including linear vs. nonlinear, discrete vs. continuous, static vs. dynamic, deterministic vs. stochastic or probabilistic, and single vs. multiple criteria.
