An overview of tourism as a multidisciplinary phenomenon with social, economic, and environmental implications. An introduction to the concepts, methods, and practices of tourism management is followed by an exploration of contemporary strategic issues faced by stakeholders engaged in tourism, along with possible strategic responses. The strategic responses are discussed within the context of appropriate frameworks (such as sustainable tourism, ecotourism and responsible tourism) that aim to protect tourism resources and further the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the indefinite benefit of all.
