Welcome - Introductory Organic Chemistry: Structure, Stereochemistry, Concepts of Reactions and Mechanisms CHEM 2401   Introductory Organic Chemistry: Structure, Stereochemistry, Concepts of Reactions and Mechanisms
CREDIT HOURS: 3
Organic chemistry is introduced through an examination of bonding, hybridization, structure, conformation and stereochemistry. Introduction to alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, alkyl halides and alcohols is discussed. Reactions of alkenes, alkynes and alkyl halides will be examined with an emphasis on mechanisms. Early synthetic sequences will be introduced, in multistep synthetic sequences.
