Emphasized are: (1) conveying how science works; (2) the nature of learning; (3) the science-society connection; (4) teaching concepts that cross the sciences such as patterns, scale, visualization, complexity, uncertainty, bias, and multiple perspectives. Experiential learning is an integral component.
