Robert J Chadwick Scholarship
This entrance scholarship will support an entering student into the Bachelor of
Commerce or Bachelor of Management program at the Rowe School of Business who
demonstrates academic merit, community involvement and athletic interest. Eligible
students will contribute to and gain value from the Dalhousie experience through their
activities and interests.
Eligibility: The eligible student will be entering first year of a Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Management program. They will demonstrate academic merit, community involvement, and an interest in athletics.

Shana Keay Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the family of Shana Keay in her memory. Shana received her bachelor’s degree in pharmacy in May 2015 from Dalhousie University and joined Lawton’s on July 15th that same year. Shana was promoted to the Pharmacy Manager Long Term Care with Lawton’s in July 2018 and loved working side by side with her colleagues whose friendships she treasured.
Eligibility: Available to students entering the first year of the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) program with demonstrated strong academic achievement. Preference will be for a student coming from Pictou or Antigonish County, or Rural Nova Scotia. Preference will also be given to a student with a background in music.

Established by Clarence and Marjorie Anderson to support students entering any undergraduate degree program at Dalhousie University.

Julius D. Solomon Scholarship
This scholarship provides support for one of more students entering first year of study in the Faculty of Engineering.
Eligibility: For students entering their first year of Engineering. Preference will be given to students with demonstrated leadership abilities in extra-curricular and/or community activities.

The Harold Sawler Scholarship
Born in 1917, Harold Sawler was raised and educated in the north end of Dartmouth. Harold went on to graduate from Dalhousie with a Masters of Arts and Harvard University with a Masters of Education. Harold returned to the Dartmouth schools' system where he would eventually serve as principal of Bicentennial Junior High School from 1951 to 1982. Harold Sawler was dedicated to providing a quality education for his students; this scholarship aspires to further this legacy.
Eligibility: First preference for graduates of Dartmouth High School or Prince Andrew High School. If there are no applicants from either of these schools, the scholarship may go to a student entering from another Dartmouth high school.
Recipient must have high academic achievement and engagement with their community.
Recipient must be a Canadian citizen.

Shoppers Drug Mart Entrance Scholarship
These 3 scholarships are presented annually to students enrolled in the College of Pharmacy at Dalhousie University who self-identify as belonging to historically underrepresented groups and are enrolled in the College of Pharmacy. Second preference is for student(s) from New Glasgow and/or North Sydney, then any other rural areas.
Eligibility: Available to students in College of Pharmacy, at Dalhousie University. Preference to students who self-identify as a member of equity groups (Black Nova Scotian or Indigenous) including students who have self-identified as African Nova Scotian, Mik’kmaw &/or any other Black or Indigenous community anywhere in Canada. Second preference for students from New Glasgow and/or North Sydney, then any other rural areas (as defined by the gift agreement).

54th Avenue Capital Corporation Bursary
A $2,500 bursary to provide financial assistance to a student with demonstrated financial need and good academic standing entering university directly from high school.
Eligibility: Available to students entering any program at Dalhousie University directly from high school. Applicants will have demonstrated financial need and have satisfactory academic standing.

Aldous Bachelor of Commerce Bursary
The Aldous BCOM Bursary is intended to provide financial support to a new Commerce student, and may be renewable annually.

Suddy and Barbara Bill Ashfield Bursary
This endowment provides renewable bursaries annually to students entering Dalhousie with permanent disabilities and demonstrated financial need. The number and value of bursaries may vary from year to year. To be considered, students must submit medical documentation regarding the nature of their disability, and a complete General Entrance Award Application.
Eligibility: Available to students entering any program at Dalhousie University directly from high school with a documented permanent disability.

Atlantic Scholars Award
Atlantic Scholars Awards will provide tuition and residence costs (at shared-room rate, for as long as the recipient chooses to live in residence) for the length of the recipient’s first diploma (up to two years) or degree (up to four years). The scholarship does not cover meals, books, and student fees. Only those applicants who have achieved a minimum average of 85% on the courses required for admission shall be considered. Selection criteria include academic performance, geographic distribution, and extracurricular activity.

Marjorie Ball Scholarship
Marjorie Ball was born in Newfoundland in 1912 and attended Dalhousie University in 1934. This scholarship was established by a bequest from the Estate of Marjorie Ball to the Dalhousie University Alumni Association.

The Annie L. Beer Prize
Under the Will of the late Mrs. Thomas (Annie L.) Beer of Charlottetown a bequest was established at Dalhousie University. The net income from the fund provides for a prize which is to be awarded to the youngest student from Prince Edward Island who enters this University in each year.

The Francis Hugh Bell Entrance Scholarship in Science
This scholarship was established by a bequest from the estate of Barbara Bell who attended Dalhousie in 1923 as a music student. This scholarship is awarded annually to honour her father, the late Mr. Francis Hugh Bell who was one of Dalhousie’s earliest graduates.

Beta Sigma Phi Scholarship
The Halifax-Dartmouth City Council of Beta Sigma Phi sorority has established an endowment of $2,000 whereby the annual income will provide for a scholarship. The successful candidate will be selected from the following categories, listed preferentially: first, an active Member; secondly, a daughter, son or spouse of an active Member; and thirdly, some other student chosen by the Registrar’s Office. Applications are available from sorority members.
Eligibility: Available to students entering any program at Dalhousie University, with preference to an active member of the sorority or the child or spouse of an active sorority member.

The Bissett Scholarship
A scholarship valued at $24,000 ($6,000 per year) was established by Mr. David Bissett with the intention of encouraging scholastic achievement by providing an incentive to capable high school students. A nomination for a Bissett Scholarship will not interfere with consideration of the nominee for other University scholarships. A student may not, however, hold a Bissett Scholarship and another Dalhousie scholarship at the same time. Students must be nominated by their school to be considered for this scholarship, and should contact the Guidance Office for more information.
Eligibility: Available to students entering any program at Dalhousie University directly from Cole Harbour District High School. Applicants must be attending university as full-time students.

Black and Gold Awards
Each year the Dalhousie Black and Gold Club funds a number of awards that recognize outstanding student athletes and the contribution they make to university life. Returning students must have been a full time student for at least two semesters in an academic year at Dalhousie with a minimum GPA of 2.0 in three full year courses or the equivalent. Entering candidates must have an average of 80% or higher. Participation on a varsity team is a requirement. Applicants should apply through the head coach of their respective varsity teams. Eligibility is verified by the Registrar’s Office.

Jeff Bredin Memorial Scholarship in Men's Volleyball
This scholarship was established in memory of Jeff Bredin who graduated from Dalhousie in May, 1985 with a Bachelor of Physical Education. While at Dalhousie, Jeff was a member of the varsity volleyball team for two years and was the recipient of numerous awards for his contribution to the University’s volleyball team. One or more scholarships will be awarded to entering or continuing student athletes on the Dalhousie men’s volleyball team who demonstrate excellence in volleyball, sportsmanship and community service.

Robert Bruce Scholarships
The University is a beneficiary of a bequest from the late Robert Bruce of Quebec whereby a portion of the annual income is to be used for both entrance and in-course scholarships, and for bursaries.

Dr. John Bubar Scholarship
After graduating in 1950, John Bubar returned to former NSAC in 1967 to become the first department head of Plant Science Department. By the time John relinquished the chair more than a decade later, it had grown to a professional group of dozen accomplished scientists and teachers. John Bubar loved to teach and share his love of plants and agriculture in general. He was affectionately known by many students as “Johnny Plant.” In turn he knew every students name and, by the time he retired in 1987, he had taught three generations of students at the former NSAC. John is a friend of the Agricultural Campus, and a strong proponent of practical learning. He has left an indelible mark on NSAC and the students who have passed through his doors.
Eligibility: Available to students entering the Bachelor of Science (Agriculture) program at Dalhousie University. Applicants must be permanent residents of New Brunswick. Selection criteria will include academic performance and financial need. Recipients cannot have received other significant awards.
