Elizabeth A. Wallace Ramsay Memorial Bursary
This bursary was established by the family of Elizabeth A. Wallace Ramsay in her memory. Mrs. Ramsay spent most of her career as a pharmacist in PEI and was well known for her commitment to her patients and her community.

Caldwell Family Bursary in Pharmacy
This award is presented annually to a student who is enrolled in the College of Pharmacy at Dalhousie University who self-identify as belonging to historically underrepresented groups and are enrolled in the College of Pharmacy. The Caldwell Family have a strong association with Dalhousie both David and Rita are both gradates as well as both of their children. Rita served as the first female Director of the College of Pharmacy from 1999-2014.

Leger Innovation in Pharmacy Practice Fund
This endowment is meant to provide support to students and/or faculty focussing their work or research in areas of innovation in community pharmacy practice. Student awards will be for students whose focus is on the identification and solution for a current practice in pharmacy. In any given year, where a student has not applied for innovation study funding, the funds may then be used to support faculty-based research projects that have an innovation theme.

Shana Keay Memorial Community Pharmacy Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the family of Shana Keay in her memory. Shana received her bachelor’s degree in pharmacy in May 2015 from Dalhousie University and joined Lawton’s on July 15th that same year. Shana was promoted to the Pharmacy Manager Long Term Care with Lawton’s in July 2018 and loved working side by side with her colleagues whose friendships she treasured.

There are 5 bursaries to be awarded annually to students who are enrolled in the College of Pharmacy at Dalhousie University who are completing their clinical placements in rural areas with preference given to clinical placements in Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaws, or LifeMark organizations. Pat Farmer Award
This award will be awarded annually to a student enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy program at Dalhousie University and requires academic encouragement. Dr. Patrick Farmer taught at the Dalhousie College of Pharmacy for over 40 years. Pat was a dedicated teacher who cared deeply about his students and always went the extra mile to help them. He was instrumental in developing and instituting the innovative PPL program in Pharmacy.

Avery Prize
This prize, bequeathed by J. F. Avery, MD, will be awarded on graduation to the student standing highest among graduates of the general degree program. The recipient cannot have received the Governor General’s Silver Medal or University Silver Medal. For the aforementioned medals and prize, a student who is completing a second Dalhousie degree will have only those courses required for a second degree used when calculating their cumulative average. In addition, any disciplinary action by the Senate Discipline Committee shall be deemed sufficient cause for any student to be ineligible. The Avie Bennett Prize
This prize is one of six established by Mr. Avie Bennett, former Chairman and President of McClelland and Stewart to mark the company’s 90th anniversary and the 40th anniversary of the New Canadian Library, of which the founding general editor was Dalhousie Professor Emeritus Dr. Malcolm M. Ross. It is awarded each year for the best essay on Canadian literature submitted from an undergraduate course at Dalhousie during the current academic year. Essays may have been written for courses in any department, but they should focus explicitly on a Canadian literary topic and not on history or culture more generally, and they must be written in English. Essays should be nominated by instructors; clean copies should be submitted by the specified date.

The Halifax-Dartmouth City Council of Beta Sigma Phi sorority has established an endowment of $2,000 whereby the annual income will provide for a scholarship.
