Minor in Neuroscience
This Minor is available to non-Neuroscience/Psychology students registered in a 120 credit hour Bachelor of Applied Computer Science, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Community Design, Bachelor of Computer Science, Bachelor of Informatics, Bachelor of Management, Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Science, or Bachelor of Science (Medical Science) program.
Requirements
- A minimum of 18, to a maximum of 36, credit hours in Neuroscience courses at the 2000 level or higher, with a maximum of 6 credit hours from NESC-approved courses (e.g., BIOC 2300.03, BIOL 2030.03).
- Note that NESC 2000.03: Methods in Experimental Psychology and Neuroscience, NESC 2470.03: Systems Neuroscience, and PSYO 2501.03: Statistical Methods I, are restricted to students in a Major/Honours program in Neuroscience or Psychology. However, if a student has completed these courses and switches from a major to a minor, these credits can be used to fulfill the requirements of the minor.
Please note that entry into upper-level Neuroscience courses (at the 2000 level or higher) requires completion of six credit hours at the first year level:
- PSYO 1011.03: Introduction to Psychology and Neuroscience I: From Neuron to Person (or equivalent) with a grade of B- or better
- PSYO 1012.03: Introduction to Psychology and Neuroscience II: From Social Interaction to Psychopathology (or equivalent) with a grade of B- or better
OR
- A grade of B- or better in the Psychology component of SCIE 1506.09 and SCIE 1507.09: Integrated Science Program I and II (or equivalent)
