Minor in Aquaculture
This minor is available to students registered in a 120 credit hour Bachelor of Science (Agriculture), Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Science (Medical Sciences) program.
The Minor in Aquaculture will enable students in majors other than Aquaculture to gain important theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of aquaculture. Students will gain an appreciation for the range of species farmed in aquaculture and the production systems required to rear them. They will have an opportunity to explore the biology of aquatic animals, relevant issues pertaining to fish health and the impact of aquaculture on the surrounding environment. The business and socio-economic impacts and the regulations within which the industry is managed will also be included in the curriculum.
18 credit hours chosen from the following, in consultation with the Aquaculture advisor.
