Certificate in Environmental Engineering

The Environmental Engineering Certificate will provide students enrolled in the Civil Engineering Program at Dalhousie University the opportunity to gain formal recognition of their choice of electives related to the specific area. Students will gain specialty knowledge in this sub-discipline and receive a certificate upon graduation that will allow them to easily demonstrate to potential employers both competence and breadth in this sub-discipline.

Certificate Requirements:

Students must complete the following courses:
•    ENVE 4440.03: Water and Wastewater Treatment
•    ENVE 4772.03: Environmental Assessment and Management
•    CIVL 4401.03: Senior Project I (environmental-based project required)
•    CIVL 4402.03: Senior Project II (environmental-based project required)

Students must complete at least two of the following courses:
•    ENVE 4201.03: Biological Treatment Processes
•    ENVE 4460.03: Solid Waste and Landfill Engineering
•    ENVE 4641.03: Contaminant Fate and Transport

Students must complete the Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree requirements to be eligible for the certificate.
