Certificate in Water Resources Engineering

The Water Resources Engineering Certificate will provide students enrolled in the Civil Engineering Program at Dalhousie University the opportunity to gain formal recognition of their choice of electives related to the specific area. Students will gain specialty knowledge in this sub-discipline and receive a certificate upon graduation that will allow them to easily demonstrate to potential employers both competence and breadth in this sub-discipline.

Certificate Requirements:

Students must complete the following courses:
•    ENVE 4410.03: Engineering Hydrogeology
•    CIVL 4431.03: Water Distribution and Sewerage Systems
•    CIVL 4401.03: Senior Project I (water resource-based project required)
•    CIVL 4402.03: Senior Project II (water resource-based project required)

Students must complete at least one of the following courses:
•    CIVL 4350.03: Hydraulic Engineering
•    ENVE 4000.03: Small Watershed Hydrology
•    ENVE 4641.03: Contaminant Fate and Transport

Students must complete at least one of the following courses:
•    PLAN 2006.03: Place, Space, and Geographic Information Systems
•    ERTH 3500: Geographic Information Science & Spatial Data

Students must complete the Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree requirements to be eligible for the certificate.
