Certificate in Geotechnical Engineering

The Geotechnical Engineering Certificate will provide students enrolled in the Civil Engineering Program at Dalhousie University the opportunity to gain formal recognition of their choice of electives related to the specific area. Students will gain specialty knowledge in this sub-discipline and receive a certificate upon graduation that will allow them to easily demonstrate to potential employers both competence and breadth in this sub-discipline.

Certificate Requirements:

Students must complete the following courses:
•    CIVL 4114.03: Applied Rock Mechanics
•    CIVL 4100.03: Earth Slopes and Embankments
•    CIVL 4111.03: Geotechnical Engineering
•    CIVL 4401.03: Senior Project I (geotechnical-based project required)
•    CIVL 4402.03: Senior Project II (geotechnical-based project required)
•    ENVE 4410.03: Engineering Hydrogeology

Students must complete the Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree requirements to be eligible for the certificate.
