This course introduces a broad range of scientific principles to understand the interior environment in modern buildings. Topics include science's place in architecture, light, heat, building material characteristics, sound, electricity, fire, and the LEED rating system. It uses a "common-sense" approach involving graphic images, practical understanding, and problem-solving. A background in mathematics or science is not required.
