This course provides an introduction to the role of technology in medicine, highlighting advances in areas such as surgical technology, imaging, implants, prosthetics, biomaterials, biosensors, drug delivery, and remote patient management, the role of technology in global medicine. Ethical issues arising from technology in medicine are also considered.

PREREQUISITES: Introductory Physics (PHYC 1300X/Y.06 or equivalent), Introductory Chemistry (CHEM 1011.03 and CHEM 1012.03 or equivalent), Introductory Calculus (MATH 1010.03 or equivalent)
RESTRICTIONS: Open to students in the Faculty of Science, with preference given to those in the Medical Science Program.
