This the first of two graduate level courses that are designed to introduce students to topics broadly important for the study of biomedical engineering. It also provides training in understanding how to seek, use and cite the scientific literature in preparation for developing thesis and research proposals. The course includes modules in Life Science, Biomaterials & Biocompatibility, Signals & Detection and Physiological Systems. Students who complete this course will be able to comprehend and apply knowledge from these modules to more specialized areas of biomedical engineering.
