COMM 4315 International and Intercultural Management

The growing importance of international business and involvement in global competitiveness requires the manager of the 21st century to acquire additional skills and abilities for effective international and intercultural interactions at home and abroad. This senior-level course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective management in global and culturally diverse domestic workplaces. The course content includes such topics as introduction to international human resource management, cultural orientations and values, cross-cultural communications, employee attitude, motivational issues in cross-cultural settings, differences in management and leadership styles, staffing and training for international assignments, expatriation and repatriation management, ethics and social responsibility across cultures, and intercultural negotiations.
