Welcome - Creative Responses to A Midsummer Night's Dream FILM 4926   Creative Responses to A Midsummer Night's Dream
CREDIT HOURS: 3
Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is an ideal play for exploring how one creative work can inspire others. Its tale of lovers and actors lost in a fairy-filled forest still speaks to us about imagination, beauty, transformation, sexuality, gender, dreams, love, rebellion, laughter, art, the environment, and performance. Not only are productions of it still commonplace, but it has also inspired numerous adaptations in theatre, cinema, poetry, music, dance, novels, animations, and songs. In this course, you will read the play closely and examine the creative dreams that it has inspired in other artists over the centuries. You may also engage in creative projects of your own for credit.
