MCRA 4002 Microbiomes in Agriculture

This course is to provide students with an understanding of diversity and function of microbial communities in soil, water and food. Students will be introduced to various concepts of plant - and animal - microbiomes and the role of microbial populations in host health and fitness. Application of microbiomes in food industry will be discussed. The theory of metagenomics approaches to culture independent microbial community profiling will be discussed.
