MGMT 3602 Professional Communication Skills
CREDIT HOURS: 3
As a professional course, students will study and apply the broad range of written and oral communication skills needed by managers, paying particular attention to career development including writing resumes and cover letters, practicing professional interview skills, and researching a future career path. Topics include emails and professional correspondence, problem-solving using design thinking processes, group learning and team collaboration, persuasion and explanation as communication goals, extemporaneous communication, digital communication, writing reports, visual rhetoric, readability, and document design. Students will have the opportunity to practice their extemporaneous communication skills techniques in small groups during class, and on video through a group podcast.
NOTES:
CSCI 2100 Workplace Communications for Computer Science - will not be counted towards the Bachelor of Management Program
