This course explores the interactions between transportation and land use systems. The main aim of the course is to introduce the fundamental concepts of transportation and land use linkages, planning cities for people and places, case studies of urban and suburban transformations, transit-oriented developments, micro-design of road contractions, complete Street, corridor planning, and land use consideration for future mobility needs. It will also discuss tools, methods and approaches of accessibility measurements and integrated land use and transportation modelling. By the end of the course, the students should have a basic understanding of the transportation-land use interactions, and integrated transportation and land use planning processes, methods and applications.
