This course will expose students to how organizations can be designed and structured to be most effective, and how organizations develop and change in response to forces in their internal and external environments. Theoretical and practical approaches, and frameworks that are useful for assessing organizational effectiveness will be covered. How organizational structures are designed and driven by strategy, technology, culture, and change management practices will also be primary areas of foci. The course will be structured around a combination of lectures, student presentations, and lots of in-class discussion and experiential exercises.
