This advanced course explores the art and architecture of the ancient Near Eastern and Greek Worlds, with an emphasis on understanding cultures through their artistic and material remains. Various types and forms of artistic expression will be considered thematically as they develop and change over time and space in their social, political, intellectual, and religious contexts.

PREREQUISITES: At least 6 credit hours in Classics at the second year or above, or permission of the instructor.
