This course introduces students to pharmacology, the study of the interaction of drugs and toxins with the human body. Topics include drug receptors,metabolic transformation and distribution of drugs. Lectures explore the action of clinical agents used to treat cardiovascular diseases, neurological diseases, pain, and cancer. Experts in the various fields of pharmacology present the different topics.

PREREQUISITES: BIOL 2020 or instructor's consent. A course in Biochemistry or Physiology is recommend.
