This course provides students with an overview of the broad range of community health promotion strategies used to enhance and encourage health in diverse populations. This course examines issues related to designing effective community health promotion strategies, including healthy community policies, social marketing, health advocacy, health communication, health literacy, and health-related theories and models. Students will complete a community Health Promotion Strategies Project to gain in depth knowledge about developing and refining a theory-driven, community-based health promotion strategy aimed at enhancing the health of a particular community.
