Diploma of Engineering - Dynamics
MECH 2400 Dynamics
CREDIT HOURS: 3
Dynamics considers the kinematics (displacement, velocity, acceleration) and kinetics (forces, energy, momentum) of a single particle (mass without volume), a rigid body (distributed mass) and composite bodies. The course builds on the concepts introduced in Statics, by expanding from a force neutral free body diagram to one with non-zero net forces causing a second mass-acceleration diagram. The engineering techniques are applied to practical examples such as vehicles, rockets and machine mechanisms.
