Techniques and approaches of today’s music are studied through writing of musical works for diverse instruments and ensembles, and through analysis of important works of repertoire. Emphasis will be given to creativity and to practical aspects of musical composition: effectiveness of orchestration, playability, quality of score, and preparation of parts.
