Art The course differentiates between imitative and symbolic Art and Literature. It opposes Greek sculpture and the Oriental carpet as their archetypes. The former is based on the eye and observation, the other one on Geist, idea and abstraction. We follow this opposition from the Greeks to modern literature and art. Language of instruction: English and German, as desired by the students. This course should appeal to students interested in the history of literature and of ideas.
