This course is a continuation of MATH 1030.03. Topics include: vector spaces and linear transformations, complex numbers, real and complex inner product spaces, orthogonal and orthonormal bases, Gram-Schmidt procedure, orthogonal projections, generalized Fourier series, orthogonal and unitary transformations, diagonalization of symmetric and hermitian matrices, quadratic forms, least squares approximation and curve fitting, applications.
