The ability to find contextually relevant information is essential to support decision making and strategic planning by individuals, groups and organizations. This course discusses the theory and practice of information seeking while developing key skills for systematically accessing, gathering and evaluating resources efficiently, effectively and ethically. In addition, this course explores contemporary information-seeking behavior issues including fake news and the Internet of Things. The use of technologies to streamline search processes will be emphasized, as well as the behavioral, affective and cognitive aspects of human information behavior that influences how we find and consume digital content.
