This course focuses on the design and optimization of health care systems, Canada’s largest industry. It illustrates how industrial engineering techniques can be applied to health care systems. Topics include an overview of Canadian and international health care systems, measurement and data in health care, quality control and improvement, process mapping, lean/six-sigma, demand and capacity planning, resource allocation, scheduling, supply chain management, and simulation.
