Master of Science in Occupational Science - Capstone Project: Social Impact Through Occupational Science OCCU 6514   Capstone Project: Social Impact Through Occupational Science
CREDIT HOURS: 6
In the Masters of Science - Occupational Science program, graduate students have gained theoretical knowledge about occupation, explored diverse ways of knowing through science, and critically examined complex intersections between occupations, contexts, and individuals, groups, communities and society. In this course, students will integrate learning about these topics for their Major Project. Drawing on occupational science concepts, social theories, and diverse approaches to knowing, students will undertake a project directed toward social impact at the level of public discourse, services, systems and/or policies. This course embraces anti-colonial approaches to knowing and recognizes that scholarship encompasses diverse outcomes and approaches to engagement with knowledge. Students will deepen and solidify their appreciation for and understanding of potential social impacts of occupational science through this experience. This course occurs over two terms and students will receive an In Progress (IP) grade until it is completed.
