This course looks under the hood of new venture creation through the lens of entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship is the engine that drives new venture creation but it is also much more. Understanding entrepreneurship is understanding economics and social change. Entrepreneurship is a path to personal growth and fulfillment. In the course we use in class activities, experiential exercises, lecture, and Socratic discussion to learn about entrepreneurship and related topics such as types of entrepreneurship, innovation, culture, risk, business models, value creation, and etc.... The course is part of the university wide entrepreneurship minor. As a result you will be learning with students who could come with a variety of knowledge and educational backgrounds. This gives us the opportunity to learn from each other and the need to help each other develop new knowledge and review things we sometimes take for granted.
