In today’s information-driven world, the ability to access and interpret contextually relevant data is essential for informed decision-making and strategic planning across individuals, teams, and organizations. This course provides a comprehensive exploration of information-seeking theory and practice, with a focus on developing the skills necessary for systematically and ethically retrieving, evaluating, and utilizing resources efficiently and effectively. Additionally, the course addresses contemporary challenges in information seeking, such as the spread of misinformation, the influence of social media, the implications of the Internet of Things (IoT), issues of accessibility, and the growing role of artificial intelligence. Emphasis will also be placed on leveraging technology to optimize search processes, alongside an exploration of the behavioral, emotional, and cognitive factors that influence how individuals engage with and consume information.
