In this course we explore beliefs and practices of aging and the life course cross culturally. We will examine both the diversity and universals of aging experiences around the world including how the social determinants of health across the life course impact quality of life. Case studies will be provided to assess key course concepts. This course will be useful for students in the social and science and humanities, health and medical professionals, and gerontologists to provide knowledge and skills for culturally appropriate geriatric care.
