This course explores visual storytelling and ways of seeing within theatrical and performative contexts. Focusing on perception, visual composition, and narrative, students investigate how elements such as colour, form, texture, and space contribute to the creation of visual meaning and shape audience experience. Through lectures, discussion, and creative practice, the course introduces key principles of design language, visual analysis, and interpretation, encouraging critical observation and imaginative experimentation. Students will engage in translating conceptual ideas into visual form using a range of media and expressive techniques. The course is open to general BA students and is also a part of the Costume Studies and Stage Design & Technical Theatre Program.
