Warren Ogilvie Scholarship
This endowment offers two scholarships. The primary consideration in awarding the scholarship shall be outstanding academic potential and performance and second consideration shall be financial need.

Edward A. Perkins Memorial Bursary
Florence Perkins established this renewable bursary assistance in memory of her son, Edward A. Perkins. This bursary is available to an entering Dalhousie student with a permanent disability and demonstrated financial need. This bursary is administered and awarded in combination with the Johnson Foundation Bursary. To be considered, students must submit medical documentation regarding the nature of their disability.

Reverend Trevor Phillips Memorial Scholarship
Revd. Trevor A. Phillips was born in Jamaica on March 5, 1941. He received his early education at Kingston College and Union Theological Seminary in Kingston. He was an Ordained Minister at Mount Zion United Church in Jamaica before migrating to Canada. From 1969-72 he continued his pastoral work in Prince Edward Island. Revd. Phillips moved to Nova Scotia and worked at St. Paul's United Church in Halifax from 1973-1981, and then Sambro-Parkhill-Jollymore Pastoral Charge from 1981 until his passing in 2008. He obtained degrees at the University of Prince Edward Island (BSc), St. Mary's University (MEd) and Dalhousie University (BEd 1975 & MA Education 1980) Science, Education, Educational Psychology, Counselling, Educational Administration and Supervision. During his career he was a teacher and guidance counsellor at several schools within the Halifax Regional School Board and a member of their Crisis Intervention Team. He was also a presenter at several national and provincial conferences delivering workshops on multi-culturalism, human rights, curriculum reform and discipline strategies. Revd. Phillips was a man of excellence with great passion for life. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed badminton (at Dalplex with the “Silver Tigers” Table Tennis), cricket and jogging. His compassion and dedication to Christian Ministry, counselling within the community and caring for people in need was extensive and extraordinary. His amazing laughter and sense of humour brought joy to many lives. He was a legend in his time. On Eagles’ Wings is an autobiographical account of his life and faith. The Revd. Trevor Phillips Memorial Scholarship was established as a “living” memorial so that his name and his excellence will be remembered in a significant way.

The Hugh J. Potter Scholarship
An endowment has been established to provide a scholarship to a student who has demonstrated a high level of academic achievement. The scholarship honours the memory of Joseph Hugh Potter, a native of Digby County, who showed himself to be an exceptional initiator and developer of financial and commercial activity throughout this province in the fields of insurance, securities, shipbuilding, transportation and manufacturing.

Gordon S. Rankin Memorial Scholarship
Gordon Rankin, born in Halifax in 1933, graduated from Dalhousie in 1957 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He played both varsity football and basketball, holding the position of Captain for a period of time on both teams. As a continuing tribute to Gord, this scholarship was formed to assist athletes in financing their studies while attending Dalhousie University.

Richardson Family Awards
This gift is intended to provide entrance scholarships and bursaries annually with preference for students who participated in the Catapult program.

Eligibility: Students must be enrolled full-time at Dalhousie University. For scholarships, students must demonstrate academic excellence; for bursaries, students must demonstrate financial need. First preference for students who participated in the Catapult program. Second preference for students from Nova Scotia who have demonstrated involvement in community or extracurricular.

Lawrence and Mildred Ridgway Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded on the basis of performance excellence to a student entering university for the first time directly from high school into a course of study leading to an undergraduate degree in music performance. It was established by Karen Woolhouse and Judith Wells in memory of their parents, who lived in Halifax for many years, enjoyed music, and were proud that their two daughters graduated from Dalhousie.

This scholarship was created at the bequest of Hazel Robertson in memory of her husband, a Dalhousie graduate. This entrance renewable scholarship is awarded each year.

The S & L Bursary
This bursary was established to provide financial assistance for a student with demonstrated financial need who is entering Dalhousie directly from high school. Students must be graduates of a high school in one of the following counties: 1) Colchester; 2) Guysborough; 3) Cumberland; or Pictou County.

Eligibility: Available to undergraduate students registered in the Faculty of Architecture & Planning, Arts & Social Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering, Health Professions, Management, Science, or the Dental Hygiene program entering directly from high school. Applicants will have demonstrated financial need and have satisfactory academic standing. See award description for specific eligibility requirements.
