College of Sustainability
Introduction
Dalhousie's College of Sustainability provides an interdisciplinary forum for collaborative teaching and learning to address global issues in sustainability. The College of Sustainability is co-governed by four Faculties: Arts and Social Science, Science, Management, and Architecture and Planning. As a result, the Environment, Sustainability and Society (ESS) curriculum is integrated with a broad range of Dalhousie degrees and programs, providing a rigorous disciplinary basis for responsive, issues-oriented study. Professors in the College of Sustainability and many other Dalhousie departments are joined by guest speakers from business, government and community groups to offer energetic, problem-based courses and experiential learning opportunities. The College's vibrant community of students, teachers and community leaders fosters an ongoing exchange of ideas, expertise and passions. The College provides a common place at the centre of the Dalhousie community for the study of sustainability challenges and opportunities, and hosts an exciting range of public lectures, seminars and other activities.
