POLI 2420 Revolution and Rationality: Foundations of Political Thought, 1789-1900

This course focuses upon late-eighteenth and nineteenth-century thought (theorists such as Burke, Paine, Tocqueville, Kant, Mill, Hegel, Marx, Nietzsche), and investigates human rights, democracy, utilitarianism, individualism, socialism, and the roots of postmodern thought.
POLI 2410 is not a formal prerequisite for
POLI 2420, although students will find
POLI 2410 a very useful introduction to
POLI 2420.
